My name is Kong Lee, I am Hmong. I’m 18 years old. I was born in Phou Long Khai Village, Laos. I’m a student. I left my family to study in the Luang Prabang Orphanage School in 2003 after my father’s death. Then in 2012, I left to work in a restaurant and continue to study in Santiphab High School. I still have two more years in high school.
I learned to take photos when I was in secondary school. I used a point and shoot digital camera that I borrowed from the Library. I am also an artist who works mostly with watercolor and pencil. In the future I want to be an artist with paints and the camera.
These photos tell about my daily life in Luang Prabang, Laos. They describe the life style of a young Hmong student that came from the countryside. I found that the daily life of someone is a very important story to tell, but I also thought about myself too. So I decided to make my own story to share with other people.
